Alexandra Maria Lara (born in Romania) is born in Romania and is a Romanian actress as well as a television host. She's best known as the star of Rush, Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. The sole child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu. She began her career in showbiz at a young age. The actress was in lead roles in television dramas from as early as 16 years old. Her critically-acclaimed performance in the TV film that was made to air Der Tunnel paved way for other notable roles including the role as Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially popular Oscar nominated historical war film Downfall. The Reader, Der Baader Meinhof Komplex as well as The Reader are also Oscar-nominated films featuring the female diva. Alexandra is involved in several notable projects, globally and nationally. The British biographical feature Control, the Greek-language film The Dust of Time, and the French historical mini-series Napoleon are just a few of those. Also, she was on the jury at the Cannes Film Festival and the Transylvania International Film Festival.
