Maggie Grace (born Margaret Grace Denig Sept. 21 in 1983) is a well-known American actress. Most notably, she appeared as Shannon Rutherford from ABC's Lost TV series as well as Kim Mills for the Taken Trilogy. Her birthplace was Worthington in Ohio. She dropped out of high school after her parents split up to move into Los Angeles to live with her mother. Her first role came to her in the film, Rachel's Room's title character, in 2001, despite having a difficult time financially. She went on to earn a Young Artist Award nomination in 2002, for her role as 15-year-old murder victim Martha Moxley in the television movie Murder set in Greenwich. Grace played Shannon Rutherford on the Lost television show in 2004. She was the main protagonist for two seasons and was awarded a Screen Actors Guild Award. Grace decided to concentrate on film following her role as Tom Welling's character in The Fog, in 2005. The following year, she appeared in Suburban Girl The Jane Austen Book Club and also, as Liam Neeson's Kim Mills as Kim Mills for Taken. Taken 2 (2012), Taken 3 2014 and Taken 4 (2014) Replays of these roles. Grace reprised her role as Shannon in Lost in the series, which included the conclusion. In 2013 she appears in Season 6 of Californication. The character she plays is Faith who is both a star-gazer and socialite. Hank Moody, played by David Duchovny, falls for her. A member of the Gyllenhaal clan, she is the child of filmmakers Stephen Gyllenhaal and Naomi Achs as well as the elder sibling of actor Jake Gyllenhaal. When she was a teenager, she began to work on small roles with her father and appeared in Donnie Darko along with her brother. Later, she was as a character in Adaptation Confessions of a Dangerous Mind as well as Mona Lisa Smile (both 2002). Gyllenhaal was nominated for the Golden Globe Award in both the drama Sherrybaby (2005) and in the romance comedy Secretary (2002). The two films were critically acclaimed. The actress gained more attention when she portrayed Rachel Dawes, a superhero in The Dark Knight (2008) due to the success of several commercials she appeared in the year 2006. The year 2009 was the time she received a nomination for the award of Best Supporting Actress at the Academy Awards for her role of a single mom in Crazy Heart. The subsequent roles she has played include Nanny McPhee and The Big Bang and Hysteria. The other roles she's played include Secret Service agents in White House Down (2013 an action thriller) as well as actors in Frank (2014, drama The Kindergarten Teacher 2018), and the role of the Kindergarten Teacher. Gyllenhaal's debut as a director and writer was in 2021 with The Lost Daughter, a psychological drama that won her the Venice International Film Festival Best Screenplay Award. She also was awarded the Academy Award nomination for Best Adapted Screenplay.
